An innovative vision to deliver complete cardiac care

MICC was founded in 1997 by Dr. Kevin Coy. His vision at that time was to build a cardiology practice which could provide the full spectrum of services for patients with any type of cardiovascular problem. Care ranges from prevention and screening to diagnosis, treatment and management of all cardiac issues.

Growth fueled by patient demand

In order to meet the needs of cardiovascular patients throughout Miami-Dade and Broward County, MICC expanded from three locations to four. Our strategically located offices are positioned throughout the region in order to provide convenient services to everyone.

Developing the optimal physician team

Since our inception, the practice has grown from 4 physicians to 13. Through careful selection and recruitment, Dr. Coy steadily increased the medical team, deliberately selecting physicians based on their expertise and areas of specialization. All areas of cardiovascular care have been established including interventional, clinical, electrophysiologic, nuclear, echocardiographic and vascular. This allows patients to be provided with the most complete diagnosis and treatment possible and promotes all while promoting increased communication among care providers.

Many of our physicians have held prominent leadership positions throughout the community. Dr. Ali Bazzi has served as the Chief of Staff at Jackson North Medical Center and Parkway Medical Center as well as Chief of Cardiology at Golden Glades Hospital and Parkway Regional Medical Center. Dr. Kevin Coy, Dr. Luis Correa and Dr. Handre Hurwit have each served as the Chief of numerous Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories throughout the area. For 35 years, Dr. Richard Elias has been Chairman of the Florida Heart Research Institute, formerly Miami Heart Institute.
